What A Day!
Golfers Tee Off in Successful John Lacey Open
The John Lacey Open, held on Friday, September 12th, saw 24 teams compete in a Texas Scramble format. Despite a couple of brief rain showers, the day remained largely dry and sunny, providing ideal conditions for some exceptional golf.
The mixed category was won by Margaret Leake, Colin Leake, Andrew Johnson, and Simon Johnson, who posted an impressive nett score of 52.0. In the non-mixed division, Ollie Smith, Rich Smith, Rich Booton, and Craig Shorter took top honors with a nett 50.0, outperforming other strong teams.
Other notable performances included Martin Bedwell, Bob Lucas, Gary Monk, and Yoshi Oyama finishing 4th in the non-mixed category with a nett 54.0, while Clive Stokes, Kit Stokes, Richard Beddows, and Simon Griffiths secured 3rd place with a nett 53.0. Joel Oliver, Luke Millichip, Harrison Davies, and Alfie Watts narrowly missed the top spot with a nett 52.0, finishing 2nd.
Andrew Johnson excelled in the Nearest The Pin contests, winning two Nearest The Pin's, while Jon Lester also took home a prize.
