COVID GUIDLINES 19.7.21 Amended 23rd August 2021)
COVID guidelines

In line with the advice from government and golf’s governing body the English Golf Union/R&A, this document will act as the guide to how we stay as safe as possible whilst enjoying our golf at Huntercombe during the easing of restrictions.
It remains paramount that you do not visit the Club if you are displaying the symptoms of COVID 19 or have been told to isolate.

All our staff are self testing twice a week to help ensure their and your safety and will continue to do everything they can to make your experience at Huntercombe as enjoyable as possible. Your assistance in helping them achieve this will be greatly appreciated.
The following changes will come in to place from the 19th of July.

Course Set up

The government’s removal of rules and guidance around social distancing and congregation numbers mean that there are no restrictions on the golf course with regards to course furniture, touching golf balls or size of groups, beyond those set by the club.
All golf course furniture will be returned for normal use, including the removal of flagsticks (optional), standard hole cups and rakes will be back in bunkers.
It is recommended that golfers carry their own sanitisers to ensure they can regularly clean their hands.

Practice Areas

From the 19th you can use practice and driving ranges without restrictions and without needing to book. We’ll keep the bays on the range by the 13th for the time being and the range at the back of the pro shop will re-open for that all important loosen up before play.

Tee booking arrangements

The club will continue with the existing tee booking system for at least a few weeks after the 19th of July to allow us to continue to regulate the flow of golf onto the golf course and into the club house. It is our intention to return to the pre COVID approach of no tee bookings after this period of time. We recognise that there are members who like the tee booking system but overall we believe that the original system works best for the majority at Huntercombe.

Clubhouse Facilities

In line with the government guidelines, whilst mask wearing is not a legal requirement, we strongly recommend that members, guests and visitors wear masks when moving round the clubhouse or entering the professional shop or office.

The bar will be open but we will still provide table service for those who prefer it. We will retain the marquee for a few weeks longer to provide the option for indoor and outdoor space. We will maintain appropriate distance between tables.
Showers will be available but there will be no requirement to change for lunch and golf attire may be worn in the dining room after matches.

Finally, we do ask all members and their guests to be sensitive to the requirement and wishes of others and observe a courteous level of social distancing.
We have taken a careful and phased approach so far and we will continue to keep the safety of our staff, members and visitors as our main priority. In line with the advice from government and golf’s governing body the English Golf Union/R&A, this document will act as the guide to how we stay as safe as possible whilst enjoying our golf at Huntercombe during the easing of restrictions.
