Essex Seniors John Day
Competition Update
Our John Day Trophy Seniors team’s defence of the Trophy won in 2019 came to an end at Crondon Park on Wednesday in the 3rd round of the competition. This was Crondon Park’s 3rd home match in the competition and they made home advantage count particularly as the Burnham team had to give up to 3 shots in some of the matches. After 9 holes the match was evenly poised with Burnham 4 up and Crondon Park 5 up however the back 9 saw the home team move into a winning position. For Burnham there were wins for Dai Lester 2 and 1, Steve Myles 3 and 2 and Dave Fugeman 1 up. There was also a half for Theo Rowe. However, the final result was 5 ½ to 3 ½ to the home side.
