Club Reopening Update
3rd March 2021
Further to the Government's announcement last week and subsequent "Roadmap for the return to golf in England" provided by England Golf on Friday night, we would like to provide some further details regarding the re-opening of PGC and the start of the golf season:

• The course will re-open for casual/social golf played in groups of up to 4 people over 8 or 10 holes from Monday 29 March. Tee times will be available for booking on BRS from 18:00 on Monday 22 March and the booking “window” will be limited to one week.

• Casual/social golf in groups of up to 4 people over 18 holes will be available from Monday 5 April with tee times available for booking on BRS from 18:00 on Monday 29 March and the booking “window” will be extended to two weeks.

• Members are asked to restrict themselves to playing a maximum of 4 times per week during the above period(s).

• The practice ground will also re-open on Monday 29 March for restricted numbers and bookings would need to be made in advance with Nick Summerfield or Joe Armitt either over the phone or in person. The practice ground will be closed between midday and 2:00 pm in order to allow the greenstaff to carry out maintenance and practice ball collections without the risk of being struck by golf balls. The indoor practice facility must remain closed until 12 April.

• Competitive golf will resume during week commencing 12 April with Ladies’ Competitions on Tuesday 13 April and the Gentlemen's Captain’s v President’s Team match on Saturday 17 April. (Booking for these events will open on Club V1/HDID two weeks in advance). The full fixture schedule will be circulated during the week commencing 15 March and will also be available in the Members' Handbook that will be published in April. Ahead of the start of competitive golf, we shall also be sending out information relating to Competitions and World Handicap System.

• Richard will be operating the takeaway service at the chalet from 29 March and outdoor bar and catering facilities on the terrace (subject to the rule of 6) will be available from Monday 12 April. There will be further information about this in the upcoming update from the House Committee.

• Entry into the 2021 Knockout competitions will be available from Monday 22 March with the draw to take place in the second half of April. We will hopefully be able to complete the 2020 Knockout competitions by the end of April.

• Members’ guests will be welcomed to the course from 19 April and visitors from 4 May. We will also honour existing bookings for Society and Open events that are due to take place from 12 April onwards.

Enjoy your golf and good luck in the competitions.
