TREES AND WOODLANDS AT TEMPLE
A TOUR OF THE TREES AND WOODLANDS AT TEMPLE
This project took two years to complete and was carried out jointly by Temple Golf Club members Bryce Martin and Jan Sambrook. Another Temple member, Paul Richardson, supplied the expertise to transfer the data to a smart view-at-a-glance map.

Why do all this? What’s the point? Who is interested? To try to answer some of these questions, the audit itself is accompanied by other peripheral material which places the club, the course and golf itself into an ecological and historical context.

While no effort has been spared to ensure accuracy in all these areas, there will inevitably be discrepancies and omissions, but it is hoped that these are minor and will lead to refinements. The project transfers much material previously only available in hard copy, and other material scattered across the internet, into a single accessible – and hopefully useful – digital format. The audit builds on previous studies and can be added to, for example an account of bird and bat boxes in the wooded areas.

It has been fun to do, involving much learning.

After checking out the audit, perhaps when your game proves a disappointment you will be able to enjoy the many satisfactions the course has on offer – better than a Hamlet cigar! Remember this?
