Mens Winter Competitions
With the introduction of the WHS and the ability for players to enter Supplementary Scores, we have had to consider the Tees which can be used during the Winter period. Historically the White Tees are brought forward to positions that more realistically represent the length from the Yellow Tees. To avoid confusion when entering scores it has therefore been decided that the White Tees will be removed so all competitions and supplementary scores should be entered using the Slope Rating for the Yellow Tees.
This does not prevent the competitions from being Qualifying unless other factors such as the Bunkers being GUR needs to be in place.

Mens Competition Divisions
As most players will be aware the new World Handicapping System will be launched on Monday 2nd November. The introduction of the Handicap Index and the applicable Playing Handicap has meant that we have had to consider how this will be applied to the Mens Competitions Divisions.
We have therefore decided that the Divisions will be limited using the Playing Handicap, which will mean that the Maximum for Mens Section Competitions will continue to be 28.
Since the resumption of Competitions it has been noted once again that there is an imbalance in the numbers in the divisions. This is something that we have to monitor regularly given the fluctuations in peoples handicaps and new members. Therefore with effect from competitions from the 7th November the handicap Divisions will be as below, based on players the Playing Handicap.
Div 1 – Up to and including 13.0
Div 2 – From 14 to 18
Div 3 – From 19 to 28
This will be reviewed and adjusted in the future if required.

Competition Entry Issues
Earlier this month we asked all members to try and check that their Handicap information was visible on the ClubV1 Members Hub, to ensure that they would be able to enter competitions via the PSI Screen.
Several members have contacted us and we have been able to resolve the issues, however as we come to use the system for the first time since the WHS implementation, we still have concerns that some people may not be set up correctly.
Should you come to enter a competition or confirm that you wish to enter a supplementary score, and your name is not visible on the PSI screen please follow the advice below.
Firstly report to the Reception and explain the situation as they may be able to sort the problem out immediately.
If they are unable to resolve the issue please pay your Entry Fee in the usual way, but do not put your scorecard in the Competition Box, instead please ask at the Bar for it to be put in Ginos tray in the office.
This way we will know who has encountered problems and we will look to resolve them before we close the competition.
