Arrangements for Re-Opening
2nd December 2020
Following the recent Government announcement that we have been placed in Tier 2, I am pleased to outline the following arrangements for our re-opening from Wednesday 2nd December.

Golf
Several tee sheets are now ‘live’ and it is reassuring to see that there are times available, as agreed we will continue to monitor the current restriction of a maximum 3 tee times (in advance) per week.
• The back nine holes will re-open on Wednesday and I am sure those of you who have walked the course regularly, will agree that the course conditions are good. Currently every green is free from pitch marks and we all have a duty to ensure this remains the case once we re-open for play.
• Mats have been placed in the high traffic areas, designated by posts. If your ball lies within one of these areas you must place your ball on a mat – they can easily be moved into position by using your foot or club, please do not touch them.
‘When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less and a putter is not being used for the stroke, the ball must be lifted, placed on and played from an Astroturf, or similar type of, mat. The mat must be placed as near as possible to where the ball originally lay, and the ball must be placed on the mat. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
If a ball when placed rolls off the mat, the player must try to place it a second time. If the ball again does not stay on the mat, the mat must be moved to the nearest spot, not nearer the hole, where the ball will come to rest on the mat when placed.
If the player accidentally causes the ball on the mat to move before a stroke is made, there is no penalty and the ball must be placed again on the mat.
If a tee is used to secure the mat into the ground, the ball must not be placed on the tee.’
The purpose of this decision is to help promote Qualifying Competitions whenever possible during the preferred lie period.
• The practice area will open from Wednesday and range tokens will be available from the Pro’s Shop.
• The Halfway House will open from 8am each morning, prior to the first tee time of the day. The usual hot drinks, Bacon Rolls, Sausage Rolls etc. will be available.
• It is essential that Social Distancing guidelines are always followed.
Clubhouse
Tier 2 arrangements allow us to revert to the position we were in prior to the current lockdown, with the added bonus that we can open the Locker Rooms, however the Showers will remain closed.
• The Clubhouse will open at 07:30am each day and will close at 5pm. Bar and Catering will be available from 10am each day, with last orders at 4:30pm, prior to the 5pm closing. These times are subject to review and may be altered to accommodate additional dining events.
• In order to have an alcoholic drink a meal must be ordered at the same time (as previously) and there will be ‘meal deals’ available to support this.
• The same restrictions of only one household per table will be in place. Our lounge furniture has been arranged so that each individual place setting complies with Social Distancing rules – it is essential therefore that furniture is not moved. Table service will be in place and it is important that members do not stand at the bar and try to place an order.
• FACE COVERINGS must be worn in all areas of the Clubhouse, except when one is seated at a table for food or drink.

We are planning a number of additional dining opportunities in December (menus will be sent out):

Saturday 5th December – Saturday Night Dine In

Sunday 6th December – Sunday Lunch Takeaway

Friday 11th December – Steak Night

Sunday 13th December – Sunday Lunch Dine In & Takeaway

Saturday 19th December – Saturday Night Dine In

Sunday 20th December – Sunday Lunch Takeaway

Thursday 24th December – Christmas Day Lunch Takeaway Collection

Professional
The Shop will be open from 8am till 3pm each day. Just prior to lockdown the Club officially took over the business from Brian Seddon Ltd and during the last few weeks we have been setting up a new till system, transferring stock, absorbing member accounts, and placing orders for new stock.

Matt is looking forward to welcoming members back from Wednesday and over the coming weeks will keep you aware of any special offers that become available. Outdoor teaching is now permitted.

From Wednesday all buggy bookings, payments, key collection, and returns will be done via the Pro’s Shop.

Thank you for your continued co-operation, all the staff are looking forward to welcoming you all back. As ever please ensure you always remain safe and maintain social distancing.
