Dean Plant wins Little Horsted Cup - Scratch
Superb rounds of 68-70 as Dean wins by 5
Dean Plant captured the final 36-hole trophy of the year as he coasted to a 5-shot victory with rounds of 68-70 = 138 -6 total.
Leading by 4 from round 1, he started with a slight wobble on the first making a 5, but back-to-back birdies on 2 & 3 calmed the nerves as he cruised round in 70, lipping out on the last from 10ft for a final birdie.
Mark Budd finished 2nd with 70-73 = 143 -1 total
They were some excellent performances by a growing number of young golfers coming through who may well be challenging for top honours next year. Tom Frost, Billy Gray, George Pepper & Josh Hayes all performed well over the weekend.
