Club Update
This Weeks News!
Dear member

Just a quick update on some varied topics at the club:

BOOKING
- It is vital that you reserve a tee time before coming to the club / playing golf. The government have introduced strict track and trace measures now that food and beverage outlets have re-opened. Our booking system will assist us in keeping track of who has been at the club and when.

CARE OF THE COURSE
- Please remember to fix your pitch-marks, the course is busy with members and their guests, so please take care of YOUR course...
- Please take a divot bag with you everytime you play
- When the course is busy, each group starts 8 minutes apart. Provided you are all playing in 3's and 4's please ensure you keep up with the group in front.

COMPETITIONS
- Our first few stableford competitions have been very well supported, thank you.
- Our first majors are to be played on the 19th July, The Chairman's Challenge for men and The Calbarrie Trophy for Ladies. These events should be entered via the members V1 app or PSI screen in the clubhouse, alternatively a good old fashioned phone call!

BAR & CATERING
- We have started serving draught lager, cider and guinness as of today. Doom bar will become available on the pump as of Saturday.
- Our catering will remain as a simple offering, assorted filled rolls, Bacon Rolls, Sausage Baps, with or without and egg! Plus our members favourites, homemade sausage rolls, pasties, steak slices and chicken pies.
- Please continue to use the one-way systems and utilise outside seating only please.

GOLF LESSONS:
- Andrew and Nathan are in high demand at present, that said they still have limited spaces at weekends and some weekdays for tuition.
- Please also speak to them about junior lessons, which considering their are very few other pursuits for kids at present, could provide a welcome focus...albeit for an hour!

GOLF SOCIETIES / GROUPS / MEMBERS GUESTS

- Based on the gaps appearing in the time sheet, we welcomed our first society group this week, post lockdown. These guys had been booked since last year and were keen to play golf whatever the offering!
- With the above in mind, we are starting to allow small groups ( 30 or less ) but only after 10:30 and only on quiet days of the week.
- If any members wish to arrange a small gathering of colleagues or friends, the green fees will be offered at members guest rate. We can also now provide take away bacon rolls and coffee/tea after 9 holes for an inclusive special price of £25 mid-week. Speak to me should you wish to arrange a day out!

VOLUNTEERS
In order to get us to this stage, following the strange events of the past 3 to 4 months, we relied heavily on the help of our generous members who gave their time (in some cases patience) to ensure that we could operate with a skeleton staff in the clubhouse, while managing a very busy golf course. I can't thank them enough.

Happy Golfing
