The Cyril Blake Team making the final next month and individual successes for Steve Graham in the Sussex Seniors and Paul Plant in the Sussex Veterans championships.
The Pyecombe Pitcher team which is made up of 10 players, 5x category 1 and 5x category 2 playing scratch betterball medal have topped their group with a game to spare.
This was in the toughest group we have had for some years with 4 of the teams making up the semi finals in all but one of the previous 5 years.

James has used 17 players in the matches so far, which shows the tremendous strength in depth we have as a club in categories 1&2 as well as the great support that members give to the Club teams.

We got off to a flying start by beating Copthorne 5-0 at home followed by another 5-0 win at home to Mid Sussex. We then travelled away to Mannings Heath who beat us 4-1 in last years semi final at Pyecombe and got our revenge by beating them 3-2 on their own patch.

We have one game left to play in our group away at Pyecombe on Saturday 31st August, where we will top our group whatever the result. Pyecombe will need to beat us 4-1 or better to gain the runners up spot and advance to the semi finals at the expense of Copthorne with Littlehampton waiting for the outcome in the other Semi final.

We now play Bognor on Sunday 29th September at Littlehampton in the Semi Final. Although Bognor were runners up in the other group they made the semi finals last year so it will be a test we cannot take lightly, but with a strong squad we have every chance of repeating our trophy win of 2 years ago.

Players that have represented the club this year include

Craig McCollum
Steve Graham
Dean Plant
Andy Larkin
Paul Plant
Jordi Southgate
Tom Foreman
Olly Dickman
Mark Hilton
Mark Budd
James Heard
Alan Ratcliffe
Sean Wootten
Tony Plant
Rob Thompson
Simon Heather
Marcus Opoku

There were another 12 strong players who made themselves available for the Pitcher team this year but have been unlucky not to have been selected but their support is greatly appreciated.

A very strong group and will make selection for the semi final and final should we get there extremely difficult.
