Orla Rooney wins the County Junior Championship
and the Campbell Clock
Nine girls participated for the Renfrewshire County Junior Campbell Clock Stableford competition over 18 holes, at Whitecraigs Golf Club yesterday afternoon (25th August).

This was won by Orla Rooney (Cowglen) with a fabulous 41 points.

Jennifer Lynagh (Caldwell) with 37 points won 2nd prize winning in the BIH over 3rd prize winner Ava Graham (Paisley).

Also contested was the Junior County Championship trophy, this was awarded to the best 18-hole gross score,

We were delighted to have eight girls participating in the 8-hole stableford over the main course and four playing in the fantastic PAR 3 facility.

Results for both competitions are noted below.
8-hole:
1st: Tammi Grady (Caldwell)
2nd: Lucie Barclay (Kilmacolm)
3rd: Ruby Thomson (Kilmacolm)

PAR 3:
1st: Maisie Cunniffe (Whitecraigs)
2nd: Maya Clark (Whitecraigs)

There were some nearest the pin, longest drives and putting competitions competed for also and a great mix of prize winners, so look out for the future – lots of great swings in the making….

We were joined today by the Whitecraigs Ladies Captain Helen Daye and Vice-Captain Sheena Mason-White, thank you for your kind support.

Thanks also to June Lockhart, RLCGA County Captain who assisted in starting all the games on the course from the 1st tee.

The event is well supported by parent helpers and local junior convenors, Lynda Bradley (Kilmacolm) and Liz Hale (Caldwell), thank you all.
