Here are the updates after the weekend:

JOKER:
Jean Conlon’s envelope was pulled from the Joker drum this week. Jean selected the Number 34 and when opened it revealed the 9 of Hearts, winning Jean €50. The lucky wine winners were Sinead Twomey, Tony Craven and Frank Kelly. Next week’s Jackpot is €1,800 and the draw will again take place after the Social.

INTERCLUB:
The Club had 4 teams in action over the weekend. It started brightly with the Jimmy Bruen team making it through the Strokeplay qualifying in Kilcock on Saturday. The Revive Active team unfortunately succumbed to Rathcore on Saturday. Sunday morning saw the Jimmy Bruen team in action in the matchplay element but unfortunately they were beaten by County Meath Golf Club. Next up were Minor Cup team, unfortunately, they too bowed out, this time to a strong Headfort team. The Challenge Cup team, however, rounded off the weekend in great style by beating Ashbourne and are now through to the last 8 in East Leinster.
There are 3 teams representing the club this week and your support would be welcomed at any of the events.
The Boyne Trophy team take on Portarlington on Wednesday with 2 matches at home and 3 away. The action in Black Bush kicks off at 1.
On Thursday, the Duggan Cup team take on Ardee at 3. Again they have 2 matches at home and 3 away.
Finally on Saturday, the Moore Cup team take on Birr at 3pm with 4 matches at home and 3 away.
You can keep up to date with the Live scoring which will be on the ClubNet App. Good luck to all teams taking part.

REMINDER RE RULES:
Over the next few weeks we will be issuing a few reminders in relation to the new rules which were implemented from January 1 2019. The first of these relates to a lost ball.
A ball is lost if it is not found within 3 minutes of either the player or their caddy searching for it. If you think your ball is lost, outside a penalty area, you should play a provisional ball from where you played the original stroke. You must announce this as a “Provisional” or else that ball becomes the ball in play. If the original ball is not found then the provisional ball becomes the ball in play. If you did not play a provisional and you do not find the original ball, you must return to where you played the previous stroke and play from there again, under penalty of stroke and distance. You are NOT allowed to drop a ball where the original was lost.

WORK ON C COURSE:
Improvement works will commence on Monday on the C Course. As a result there will be some heavy machinery going through the car park. Members are asked to be careful while this work is ongoing and to ensure that the car park is free from obstruction as much as possible i.e. ensure car doors are closed, that there are no bags or trolleys etc left around. Your assistance in this is much appreciated. Hopefully we will all see the benefits of this work shortly.
