Chairman's Ladder -week 6 results

44 players braved a damp day in the Ladder on a day that offered plenty of chances to climb or fall as there was plenty of snakes around.

Ian Pagan came out on top of the top match with a 1-hole win, defeat for Mark Earley was costly as he dropped to 8th place, another defeat next week could see him drop out of the top 20.

There were several games offering 30+ climbs or drops, with a few players taking advantage. Tom Foreman moved up from 48 to 13, Tony Breslin went from 54 to 14 and Alex Truffet moved into the top 10 from 42. Eric Stone defeated Karl Nilchibar 2 & 1 to move from 29 to 4. Karl is now 26th having played in the Top Match 2-weeks ago.

There were also some good performances from those players who fended off challenges from below, notably Marcus Opoku (4) who was challenged bu Nigel Southgate at 24, there was also good wins for Nigel Phillips, Andy Mitchell, Rob Thompson & Stuart Catton who all avoided large snakes.

Alan Ratcliffe defeated Jonathon Stern to emerge as top challenger, but with so much movement occurring each week, there is a long way to go until the final in March.

The league is extremely close with four players tied on 16 points and only 4 points separating the top 16.
