No Excuses: Sandy Footprints on Greens
Just played out of a bunker? Clean your shoes before you step onto the green.
Following our last post on raking bunkers: sand tracked onto the green can deflect putts, leave footprints and damage the grass. Coarse bunker sand mixed into the greens also dulls the blades on our mowers, which costs time and money to sharpen and replace. Once you’ve raked the bunker properly, and before you step onto the green, tap the soles and sides of your shoes with the head of your sand wedge (or another club) to knock out any trapped sand. Tiny habit, better putts for everyone, and lower maintenance costs. Here’s a short video from our friends across the pond showing how it’s done: Knocking the sand off your shoes Small things. Big difference. #NoExcuses #CorhamptonGC
