Vice-Captain Announcement – From Matthew Hansford Matthew Hansford has asked for us to send the following note to club members: Traditionally, the incoming vice-captain is announced at the men's Christmas dinner, with our Past Captains’ being informed beforehand. I got a little ahead of myself and shared my choice earlier than is customary, so with the news now beginning to circulate, I felt it was only right to let everyone know officially. I am therefore delighted to announce that I have invited Alan Simmonds to be my Vice-Captain, and I am very pleased that he has accepted. I have known Alan for over 40 years. We first met as rivals on the hockey pitch and, incredibly, I still have my knees! More recently, I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside him in the SST group on Sunday mornings, where I’ve seen first-hand the passion and commitment he has for our golf club. He genuinely cares about the Club and its future. I am confident that Alan will be a tremendous support to me during my year and will go on to make a fantastic Captain in his own right. I look forward to plenty of fun, laughter and good times along the way. I hope you will all join me in congratulating Alan on his nomination. Matthew Hansford Vice-Captain Seniors Invitation 2026 Bognor Regis Golf Club welcomed 68 players for our 2026 Seniors Invitation, enjoyed in glorious September sunshine and with a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. The competition was played as a Pairs 4BBB Stableford and produced some excellent scoring across the field.
