Irrigation project:
the pipes have arrived!
Installation of the new irrigation system is due to begin in the first week of October. Materials and equipment have been arriving, and a works compound is now in place near the greenkeeper’s accommodation.
A number of surveys have also taken place, including a check for unexploded Second World War ordnance. Happily, that came back negative—one less surprise to worry about!
The photo shows the mains pipe being delivered. Its installation will be the first stage of the project, with the pipe towed into the ground. We’ll keep members updated as work progresses.
