Andy brought another very good week on the Legends Tour to a close on Sunday, finishing in seventh place — another top-ten finish. After his brilliant opening 64, followed by a 71 on Saturday, Andy closed with a level-par 72 on Sunday. His final round contained three birdies and three bogeys, leaving him on nine under par, 207 for the tournament. Saturday had been one of those frustrating days. Andy hit 17 greens and reckoned he had 13 decent chances, but needed 35 putts — quite a contrast to the 26 putts during that superb opening 64. His three words afterwards summed it up perfectly: “Try again tomorrow.” And on Sunday he did just that. The fireworks of Friday might not have returned, but another solid round completed an excellent week in Spain. 64 – 71 – 72. Nine under par. Seventh place. Another top-ten finish. The Legends Tour now heads to China, an event I believe Andy is missing. For Andy, that means something he will no doubt be looking forward to — four weeks away from travelling the world, a chance to relax, recharge the batteries and enjoy some time at home. Then it will be back to business in Italy, and that will be a special one. Andy returns as defending champion, having won there last year. For now, enjoy the break, Andy.
