George Willard Trophy 2026
Congratulations Sully Darby
One of the highlights of the Junior competition calendar is the ‘George Willard’ Trophy. The 18 hole medal competition attracted 13 of our young members on Sunday 30 August. The course was slow but in great condition and it remained dry. It was good to see a couple of our juniors progress up to their first 18 hole competition. A big step. Well done! The winner of the trophy with a fabulous score of nett 73 was Sully Darby, congratulations Sully. Well done to Luca Devine-Rushbrooke, who achieved second place with a great score nett 75. In third and fourth place respectively, both with a nett 76, were Harry Page and Harley Clements. The 9 hole stableford competition had four entries with Oscar Weale winning the trophy with an amazing score of 24 points. Congratulations Oscar. In second place with 21 points was Robin Greaney. Well done Robin. Leo Hurren came third with 19 points. All three received circus tickets, donated by Andy McCann, with their prizes. It was a bonus this year to have Ann Willard, George Willards’daughter, on the starting tee, to welcome the players and present them with a voucher before play. Ann also enjoyed a wander around the course, watching their games, and finally presenting the prizes and chatting with our young players. Well done all involved in making the day a success.
