Go with the Flow
Go with the Flow
An army of volunteers worked on Monday to address the flow of the brook ahead of the winter and some much needed rain for the course. Over the years you will have seen the brook by the 8th green/9th tee become clogged up with sludge as the flow of the brook is too slow to keep the debris moving. There is only around a 9 inch fall from where the brook comes onto our land on the first and where it exits by the 7th tee. The work being carried out is to narrow the brook at the widest point which will hopefully increase the flow of the brook when we have water on the course. The narrowed area is being filled with hardcore and will be finished off to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Thank you to everone who came out today and also to Colin Mitchell for tidying up the heather around the first tee.
