Code of Conduct 1. Purpose & Scope Club members should read this in conjunction with the Clubs Rules & Governance Document published in the Docs File on our website and on the HowDidiDo App. This Code of Conduct ensures a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all members, guests, and visitors of Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club. By paying membership fees, purchasing a green fee, or entering the club premises, all individuals agree to abide by these regulations. Members are fully responsible for the conduct and dress code of any guests they introduce to the club. 2. General Behaviour & Core Values All members and visitors must maintain a high standard of personal behaviour that reflects the integrity and traditions of the game of golf. • Zero Tolerance: Physical or verbal abuse, discrimination, bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind against staff, members, or visitors will result in immediate removal and disciplinary action. • Staff Respect: Club employees work under the direction of Club Management (H-onorary Secretary). Guests and members must never reprimand or direct staff. Direct all complaints to the Hon Sec in writing. • Language & Banter: Profanity, aggressive shouting, or offensive jokes are prohibited. Casual banter must remain respectful and never cross into harassment. • Social Media: Members must not post public content on social media that is injurious, defamatory, or damaging to the club’s reputation, its staff, or its members. 3. On the Club Premises & Golf Course Members, guests and visitors must, at all times follow the established etiquette set by the the R&A Rules of Golf, the World Handicap System(WHS) and adhere to all local rules as set by the committee. Care for the Course • Divots & Pitch Marks: Always replace divots on fairways and repair pitch marks on the greens. • Bunkers: Smooth out all footprints and sand disruptions using the provided rakes before exiting. • Trolleys & Carts: Keep pull-trolleys and motorised golf carts off the greens, tee boxes, aprons, areas between the greenside bunkers and the greens and any marked hazards or sensitive ground. • Litter: Dispose of all rubbish, including cigarette butts, in the designated bins located throughout the course. • Tees: Utilise the sand boxes to repair divots. Pace of Play & Sportsmanship • Ready Golf: Adopt "Ready Golf" principles to keep the game moving efficiently. • Observe: The 3 minute rule when looking for balls. • Keep up: with the Group in front where practicable. • Waving Through: If your group loses a clear hole to the players ahead and is delaying the group behind, you must wave them through. Proactively invite faster groups to pass while searching for a lost ball. • Equipment Care: Displays of frustration, such as throwing clubs or intentionally damaging club property, are strictly forbidden. • Mobile Devices: Phones must be switched to silent mode on the course. Emergency use only. 4. In the Clubhouse & Facilities The clubhouse is a multi-use, family-friendly space designed for socialising, dining, and relaxation. • Alcohol & Drugs: Excessive alcohol consumption is prohibited. Staff reserve the right to refuse service to anyone showing signs of intoxication. Illegal substances are strictly banned, and law enforcement will be notified of any violations. • Smoking & Vaping: Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are illegal inside any indoor club building, or enclosed lounge area. Smoking and vaping is allowed on the Patio. • Mobile Device Etiquette: Voice calls are discouraged in the main bar, lounge, and dining rooms. Take voice calls in the foyer, changing rooms, or outdoor balconies. Keep devices on silent mode. 5. Dress Code Standards To maintain the standards of the club, all players and visitors must follow the dress code rules outlined below. Fuller details available on website and Club Docs. Area Permitted Clothing Prohibited Clothing On the Course • Collared or golf-specific shirts • Tailored trousers or tailored shorts with belt loops • Golf shoes with soft spikes • Denim of any kind • Cargo shorts, tracksuits, or beachwear • General trainers or metal spikes In the Clubhouse • Smart casual attire • Clean denim (no rips/tears) • Smart casual footwear (loafers, boat shoes, clean trainers) • Muddy or wet golf attire • Golf shoes with spikes • Hats, caps, or visors inside lounges 6. Enforcement & Disciplinary Procedures Any breach of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and handled through the club's formal disciplinary framework as detailed in the Club’s Rules and Governance. 1. Immediate Intervention: Club Management Committee members, the Club Professional or staff, have the authority to ask any individual violating this code to leave the course or clubhouse immediately. 2. Review: Incidents involving members will be reviewed by the appointed member of the Management Committee. 3. Sanctions: Penalties for non-compliance may include a formal verbal or written warning, temporary suspension of playing privileges, or permanent expulsion from the club. Visitors who violate the code face a permanent ban from booking future tee times.
