Club Captain's Day Please see below the following message from Kevin Holton ahead of his Captain's Day on 1st August: Dear Member, Thank you to those who have already provided auction or raffle prizes for my Captain’s Day on the 01/08. I would welcome any further sponsorship to support my charity this year, Parkinson’s UK. A poster adverting the days events has been circulated, and is also on the notice board. The format for the golf will be American Foursomes in teams of 2 - in any combination (max individual hcp is 36), both players hit drives, then swap balls for their second shots. The team picks the best result, picks up the other ball, and plays alternate shots from the chosen spot until the hole is finished. Play will be off the red tees for ladies and ‘friendly’ white tees for men. This will be played from the men's card, so ladies will receive 2 equalisation shots added to their Course Handicaps. There will be prizes for 1st to 5th, and also NTP prizes. The competition will be setup on the system so you can monitor the leaderboard to see if you are in the prizes. If you are in the prizes please make every effort to attend the prize giving at 7.00 pm, it would be great to have at least one player from each prize winning pair in attendance. The cost of the golf and nearest the pin in the swing room for ‘special prizes’ is £10. The table plan for the evening is in the spike bar and is filling up fast. This will be a casual affair with great food and music, we are welcoming Jak Cooper back after the success of last year’s event. I sincerely hope you’ll join me, Nicola and our family on the day and into the night to help celebrate this wonderful golf club. The bookings will be added to the booking system on Friday, and the remaining spaces will go live from 6.15 pm on Friday. Seniors Captain's Day Peter Kay's Seniors Captain's Day is taking place on Wednesday 29th July. This is a 9 am shotgun start competition. The format is individual Stableford played from 95% Course Handicap. The entry fee is £16 per person and this includes all prizes, several nearest the pins, drinks and snacks with the Seniors Captain at the gazebo and a BBQ after golf. The sign up sheet for this event is on the notice board in the gents changing room. Please note, it will be taken down at 10 am on Friday for the draw to be carried out. Please ensure you enter before 10 am Friday if you would like to play. Open Sweepstake 62 members entered the Open Sweepstake, the results of which have now been finalised and are attached with today's latest news email. We have prizes for the top 5, and £60 will go towards the seniors funds. Thank you to everyone that entered. Please note, we haven't yet deducted the entry fee from swipecards.
