Golf Foundation Results

Please see below a note from our Club Captain, Kevin Holton, following the Unleash Your Drive competition played this weekend.

To all those of you who took part in this weekend’s competition I’d like to thank you on behalf of the Golf Foundation. Over £450 was raised through your entry fees and this will go towards the development of golf initiatives encouraging juniors and those from disadvantaged groups to participate in golf.

Congratulations to our 3 divisional winners, Aaron Anderson, Spencer Chadwick and Stephen Russell. The full results are attached.

Their scores will now be forwarded to the foundation where the top 15 divisional winners will be invited to take part in a national final. The final will be held on 11th August 2026 at The Grove.

The 3 winners from that final will then take part in the PGA Pro-Am at Wentworth this September.

Once again, my sincere thanks for taking part and I look forward to seeing you at the Ian Pettie Memorial Day on the 20 June, and my Captain’s Day and evening doo on the 01/08, details of both to follow shortly.

Men’s County Team Results

WELLESLEY SCRATCH TROPHY

Congratulations to our Men’s Scratch Team, who won their Wellesley Knockout Trophy match against Royal Ashdown Forest, with a final score of 8–4.

The team now progresses to the next round, where they have received a home draw against Ham Manor. This match will take place on Saturday, 30th May.

COUNTY HANDICAP TROPHY

We extend our commiserations to the Men’s Birchwood team, who were defeated 3½–1½ by Selsey Golf Club.

Although the result did not go our way, the match was much closer than the scoreline suggests, with the team putting in a strong effort in very windy and cold conditions. Selsey were excellent hosts and, on the day, were the better side.

The Birchwood Team now moves into the Plate competition and await details of their next opponents.
