Richard Jones Club Vice Captain 2026
Please Welcome our new Club Vice Captain
Dear Members
I am pleased, following approval by the Management Committee to announce that Richard Jones has agreed to become Club Vice Captain 2026.
Richard comes with a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to the Club. Many will know Richard as he is currently Senior’s Competition Secretary.

I have attached his small bio below:
I’m a Secondary Music Teacher by profession, having taught mainly in Richmond, North Yorkshire. I also served as a National Adviser in Arts Education and, until retiring seven years ago, led a Music Service of over 50 teachers delivering lessons to more than 3,000 children each week.
In golf, I’ve been a member of three clubs. At Richmond I served on the Board as Director of Infrastructure and captained the Rabbits Section, winning both leagues in my captaincy year. Before moving here in 2021, I was a member of Clevedon GC. Since joining Sherborne, I’ve played regularly for the Seniors, and this season serve as Seniors Competition Secretary.
SGC is a gem of a course, I’m keen to help it continue to thrive and to support Matt.
