A lovely day for our 2nd MRC Medal of the season. Although very cold and brisk for the first 2 hours of tee times. Coming lovely once the late AM passed by. My first comp for a while and I thought the course was in great condition for April. The green iron has been broke but the new rollers are due in Friday so hopefully they will get on it this weekend for the major.
Please be aware that we come off preferred lies on May 1st so this Sundays major will be play as it lies throughout. On that note the Spring Cup is our first major of the season. Please be aware of the qualifying criteria in place in order ton win a prize in this event. You must have 20 scores on your WHS and have played in 3 gents qualifying/acceptable competitions within the last 12 months at WPGC. For those that do not qualify you can still play and this comp will go towards the 3 QC needed.
Winning the 2nd round of the MRC medals is early bird Callum Southwick with a nett 65. Big score in a medal mate, well played.
Taking Div 1 is Nicky Lea with nett 69, gross 75 also took lowest gross for the day too.
We again had more no shows. Lads the comps are rammed now, as per the rules when you book in and it closes on Friday 2200hrs. You are committing to play. If you cannot make it you must let me know, as per the rules. If for whatever reason you cannot play, drop me a message. I often have people on reserve etc so means that they can then play. Simply not turning it will not be tolerated, and comp bans will be handed out.
