Midweek Stableford Results
66 members played in the Midweek Stableford competition yesterday. Congratulations to George Austin for winning the competition with 43 points. Eddie Smith came second with 39 points. Julian Staddon came third with 38 points. The full results are attached with today's latest news email.
Evening League v Worthing (away) Match Report
In very windy conditions and on fast greens, we travelled with a strong side and were ready for a good battle. However, on arrival we discovered that, as the away team, we had to give shots in every match — never an easy task, especially in those conditions.
Despite that disadvantage, the lads did us proud. Three matches went all the way to the 18th: one finished with a hard earned half, and the other two were only lost on the final putts. The overall result was 4½–½, but that scoreline doesn’t reflect how tight the contest really was. If those two matches on the last green had swung our way, we’d have come home with an excellent half.
A tough day, but a performance full of fight, character, and commitment from everyone involved.
