Congratulations to Marcus Embleton for winning the Masters Sweepstake with a total of 103 points. Charles MacKendrick came second with 98 points, with Liam Maskell in third with 87 points. The top 10 all receive prize money. The list of prize money winners is attached with today's latest news email.
Thank you to everyone that took part. The Captain's charity has benefited by £170 which is 10% of the entry pot.
Men's Easter Medal Results
160 men played in the Easter Medal competition over the weekend. This is a fantastic turnout considering how difficult playing conditions were. Congratulations to Matthew Hansford for winning the competition with a nett 68. Chris Shelton, Andy Wiggins, James Cramp, Bill Cronin and Cameron Lang all scored nett 69's. The full results are attached with today's latest news email, along with the Hollymead Cup standings after the first round.
Ladies High/Low Foursomes Results
28 ladies played in the High/Low Foursomes competition on Saturday. Congratulations to Teresa Byrne and Jane Finch for winning the competition with 39 points. June Salt and Theresa Cashman came second with 37 points with Caroline Pilbeam and Andrea Cooper in third with 35 points. The full results are attached.
Seniors Bill Chick Salver Results
The Senior Gentlemen played a 4BBB competition on Friday 14th April to compete for the Bill Chick Salver (Past President). It was a lovely day and the course was in very good condition thus enabling many super dooper scores.
Jolly players on target were, 2nd Chris Seaton, 5th Steve King, 10th Dave Lewis, 15th Phil Consibee, 3rd in 2 Eddie Smith, 14th in 2 Richard Hedge and 17th in two Paul Addison.
The overall winners were Colin Chalmers and Dave Chalmers with 45 Points.
Runners up were Dave Lewis and Steve Greene with 44 points winning on countback from Paul Addison and Keith Tempest who also won on countback from the 4th placed pair of Trevor Till and Gerard Cashman.
The Chicken and Leek pie was lovely and enjoyed by all and Peter Kay, The Captain presented all the prizes including his special for the 17th.
A lovely start to our many competitions in 2026.
