Wendy League 2026
Acceptability for Handicaps
Wendy League 2026

This year, to help players satisfy two of their responsibilities (ie.)

Return ALL acceptable scores.

2) Have only one handicap index administered by a home club. (ie. No Society or Swindle handicaps allowed)

(See WHS Rules of Handicapping, Appendix A - Rights and responsibilities).

……the Wendy League will be played from the white tee sets and will be acceptable for handicap purposes.

This also includes players that are playing in the swindle only. This means that every player that participates on a Wednesday afternoon will play from the white tees and will need to complete and submit an individual scorecard, plus an additional scorecard for their Swindle team.

On 8/4/26, Wednesday evening (18:00), a tee sheet for (Wendy League 1 of 20) will appear on your HowDidiDo app.

This is a mechanism to get players onto the system so that they may enter their scores into the PCI unit in the hall, on completion of their round.

Once a players name is entered onto the tee sheet, it constitutes as submitting a ‘score intent’ and any failure to ‘return’ that score will incur a ‘penalty score’ from England Golf.

“Phew! That’s the formal stuff done”.

Basically, it’s exactly the same actions you would carry out on a Sunday competition except the tee sheet is a bit less formal.

Everyone’s name needs to be on it but you may play before your tee time if that is all that you can do (ie. Shift workers playing earlier etc.) and small groups can still chuck the balls up to establish playing partners.

It would be very helpful if groups stick roughly to the same times every week as in previous years.

The important thing is that your name is on that sheet - and just as important that your name is removed from it if you are not going to play for any reason - to avoid penalties.

It’s the Summer, it’s the Wendy League and as always the bar will be open offering Burslem hospitality and ‘the crack’.

Have a great Wendy League and a great golfing year.

Best Regards,
