12th Hole – No Play Zone
The environmentally sensitive area enclosed by the chestnut paling fence in front and to the right of the teeing area on the 12th hole is designated as a No Play Zone and is treated as a penalty area. Play from, and entry into, this area is strictly prohibited. If your ball is affected, relief must be taken by dropping a ball in the adjacent dropping zone, adding one penalty stroke.
12th Hole – Fence to Rear of Green
The fence running alongside the path to the rear left of the 12th green is deemed an immovable obstruction, from which free relief is available. Players may drop a ball in the designated dropping zone adjacent to the fence without penalty.
Course Maintenance Work
All areas affected by irrigation works or recent course maintenance, including machinery tracks and tyre marks, and any newly turfed areas, are classified as Ground Under Repair (GUR) and relief must be taken.
We appreciate that the No Play Zone area on the 12th hole may appear penal, but ultimately this measure is critically important to protect our golf course.
Please also note that preferred lies have now ceased.
Thank you in anticipation of your co-operation in respecting these measures, which are in place to protect the course and, following advice from rules officials, ensure fair play for all.
