Competitions Update
From the Handicap & Competitions Committee
Dear Competition Players

Ahead of the new season, I would like to take this opportunity to bring you up to date with everything that is happening competition wise over the next few weeks.

Men’s Tuesday Competitions

Tuesday Competitions will re-commence on Tuesday 31st March 2026 and will be over 18 holes. This is ahead of the OOM Stableford and OOM Medal Competitions which will start on Tuesday 14th April, 2026 with Order of Merit Stableford (1)

Knockout Competitions

The draws for the knockout competitions have now been made and all entrants should have received their draw notifications by email. Results should be posted on V1 or on the new HDID app by the play-by date at the latest. Please note that extensions will not normally be granted so please play your matches in a timely fashion. Please remember that the finals must be played on finals day which is Sunday September 6th, 2026. If you find that you are not available on this date, please remove yourself from the competition.

We are informed that V1 will be completely replaced by HDID at the end of 2026 so please update your privacy settings on the new app to make your contact details visible to other members facilitating easy contact to arrange matches.

Captains’ Drive-In

Entry to the Captains' Drive-In on 12th April, 2026 is now open. Please note the following:

The Captain and the Ladies' Captains will Drive-In at 0930. The golf competition will be a shotgun start commencing at 1000. The format for this competition is foursomes as this allows us to get the most members onto the course. There will be a buffet, courtesy of The Captain, following the golf to which all members are invited.

Please enter this competition (in pairs) on your V1 or HDID app. You cannot enter via BRS. Teams can be all male, all female or mixed. There is a maximum playing handicap limit of 28 for all entrants. Entry will be charged at £4.00. This represents a £3.00 entrance fee and a further £1.00 for 'Guess the length of The Captain's Drive' which will go to the Captain's Charity. As the fee will be taken when you enter, please ensure that you have adequate funds in your V1 Gold Card Account.

The entry sheet is timed. **PLEASE IGNORE THESE TIMES**. This is a shotgun start and everyone will tee off together at 10.00 a.m. Your starting tee will be notified to you on the day. 5 day members are welcome to play on payment of a £10.00 Green Fee which will be donated to The Captain's Charity.

Drawn Sunday Competitions

Following our survey last year, you told us that you would welcome drawn competitions. We have listened and have decided to introduce ‘Drawn Competitions’ at an initial rate of one per month. The first drawn competition will be The Spring Trophy on Sunday 3rd May, 2026.

Entry for this competition will be made via V1 or HDID (not BRS) and entry will open on 12th April, 2026 at 2100. The competition will be divided into one hour time zones and you should enter in the time zone that you wish to play.

Payment will be taken when you enter and the draw will be made by the system on the Tuesday 28th April following which we will notify you of your exact tee time and playing partners by email. You may cancel your entry on the app until midnight on Monday 27th April 2026, following that, cancellation can only be achieved by emailing the committee. There will be sanctions for no-shows.

Competition Prizes and Mystery 2’s

The popular mystery 2’s will re-commence on Sunday 3rd May 2026. The draw will be done weekly by one of the bar staff and the weekly prize will be 12 Taylor Made TP5’s which can be collected from the office.

We have formulated the weekly competition prize pay-outs and these will be communicated to you by separate email in the next couple of weeks.

Communication

Over the last few weeks, several emails have been forwarded to us by the office. Please note that should you wish to contact us for any reason, the direct email to this committee is handicapandcomp@leeparkgolfclub.co.uk

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of The Committee to wish you all an enjoyable and successful 2026 golfing season.

Best wishes
