What's been happening
Dear member

Another stop start week of golf and certainly not the busy weekend we were hoping for. The captains farewell has been moved to next Saturday in the hope we have a slightly drier week, fingers crossed! If the course is closed again tomorrow (Sunday) we will extend the Winter League play by date out to the 22nd Feb to give those booked today, tomorrow and next Saturday a chance to re-arrange.

Despite the rain, the club has been a hive of activity this week, the concrete floor was added to the green keepers compound, meaning we are only a few days away from it being operational. My thanks to Duncan, Gavin and George for pushing this project along, but mostly Duncan who's once again ensured we have the best possible product for our money.

Astro-turf has been added to the pathway from the 7th tee to the 8th tee and prior to the tidal wave of rain on Thursday, work began adding astro-turf to the path from the 9th green to 10th tees. These pathways will be edged properly and a new fence will be added to the right of the 7th path.

Two new 75" televisions have been purchased for the bar area, one is already in place (ready for the rugby today) the other will be positioned in the dining room area so that we can show multiple sports or matches.

The pro shop has taken delivery of some 2026 stock, new Under Armour Shoes and Foot Joy shoes are in store and competitively priced, remember to factor in your 10% discount. As you'd expect we've got some nice clothing arriving from both Under Armour and Turtleson during March and new for this year we will have a full fitting kit for Titleist Irons, hybrids, fairways and drivers. You can book a fitting with Matt as soon as the new equipment arrives.

It's looking like another busy year golf wise, the Friday stablefords will begin on the 3rd April and run all the way through to the end of October. The 9 hole grand prix starts on 6th May and runs for 17 weeks, culminating in the finals night on Wednesday 26th August.
The kitchen and bar will open late on Wednesdays and Thursdays from the beginning of May and with the World Cup starting in June, we will be showing the games live offering food and drink in an effort to get you stay and watch!

200 Mile Run.....
Joe who works in the pro shop on Thursdays and Sundays is taking on a personal challenge in aid of Prostate Cancer, a form of cancer that is currently affecting several of our members along with a member of Joe's family. It is also our Captains charity of choice for 2026/27.
In order to raise money for charity, Joe will be running 200 miles throughout February, basic maths, that's 7 miles or 11.3 kilometres a day, No easy task....
If you can find a few ££ to help fight prostate cancer and motivate Joe in the process the link is:
