In my update earlier this week, I mentioned that the forecast wasn't looking good for the next few days unfortunately, it came in worse than forecast, particularly last night when we received a further 20mm of rainfall. The status of the course remains unchanged in that we need 48 - 72 hours of dry weather for the surfaces to dry out. Regrettably, this means that the course will remain closed this weekend, with the next inspection being Monday morning. The greenkeepers are doing a great job of keeping on top of water levels in our internal ditch network so I'm confident that when the weather breaks, the surfaces will dry out quickly.
Keith Fisher Charity Dinner - Saturday 18th April
Members may wish to be aware that family and friends of Keith Fisher have kindly arranged a charity dinner evening at the Club to mark ten years since Keith’s passing. The event will take place on Saturday 18th April here at the Golf Club.
Keith was Club Captain in 2007 and one of the original founders of the 200 Club, and many members will remember him fondly for his contribution to the Club and our community. This evening will provide an opportunity to remember Keith while supporting a charitable cause that was close to the family’s heart.
The family would like to warmly invite any members who may wish to attend to contact them directly to make arrangements. Full information, including contact details, can be found on the flyer attached with today's latest news email.
For those attending the dinner, there are a small number of spaces to take part in a golf competition during the afternoon. Please use the same contact details on the flyer to book the golf. The cost to members for the golf is £10 each.
