What's been happening
Dear member

It's been a tricky few weeks for golf!

Whilst we've definitely had worse weather in previous years, it's been consistently raining since December. We have done our best to keep our members golfing whilst protecting the course but it's an no win situation some days.

As it happens the course has dried out well over the weekend, enabling all 18 holes to be back in play today! Unfortunately, one look at the forecast for tomorrow (Tuesday) and it feels like we will be back to square one.... Fingers crossed the forecast is wrong. As usual at this time of year we will continue to send daily updates at around 07:30.

On behalf of the green keepers, myself and the pro shop team, thank you for your adherence to the trolley ban. Some swindles have even dropped down to three clubs and a putter until further notice, your conscientious approach doesn't go unnoticed and really helps with course conditions, thank you.
That said, if you can't play without a trolley due to health, please just check in with me or the shop and use your trolley. We don't want to stop people playing.

Membership renewals will be sent out toward the end of this week, you'll see the subscription tab in your HDID app change to your respective fee for the year but there will also be an email and accompanying letter with payment instructions sent separately. Fees are due by the 28th February.

I'm pleased to report that should the weather be moderate to kind next week, work will begin on re-surfacing the pathway from the 7th tee to the 8th tee using astro-turf.
As previously communicated, this is a trial project which if successful will be used on several of our pathways.

The green keepers have been hard at work trying to locate the irrigation leak that became apparent last Autumn. You will have noticed several holes especially around the 8th tee area. They have managed to find the junction where the mains pipe splits off to different areas of the course and have fitted isolation valves to each 'branch' meaning they can now cut off the supply to different sections of the course enabling them to narrow down the search area!

200 Mile Run.....
Joe who works in the pro shop on Thursdays and Sundays is taking on a personal challenge in aid of Prostate Cancer, a form of cancer that is currently affecting several of our members along with a member of Joe's family. It is also our Captains charity of choice for 2026/27.
In order to raise money for charity, Joe will be running 200 miles throughout February, basic maths, that's 7 miles or 11.3 kilometres a day, No easy task....
If you can find a few ££ to help fight prostate cancer and motivate Joe in the process the link is:
