**COURSE MANAGER’S REPORT **

23/01/26
Not a great start to the year as the rain continues to fall following the heavy snow at the start of the month. The course is saturated and really struggling to be playable, which is both frustrating for us as a team and you as members. We are doing all we can but, unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. We are keeping heavy machinery off the course to ensure that when it does drain it,is in the best condition possible for golf. We have had 86mm of rain this month and many golf courses in the area are in the same boat as ourselves (excuse the pun). This week, I have attended a trade event for a few days where the topic of conversation has been similar all over the country with many course managers talking about how challenging the last 12 months have been. What I will say though is the course is very tidy and we are in a great position for the upcoming year and with a bit of help from the weather we will have a course to be very proud of.
It's been a quiet week on the course work wise with low staff numbers but we have managed to clear more gorse on both sides of the 1st hole and remove leaves from these areas to help with the regeneration, we’ve also done more tree work and some hedge work around the 1st tee. Inspections have been carried out each morning and we will continue to monitor the course. A dry and to the week with high winds will help in drying the course out.
We hope to do more work on installing irrigation to tees and aprons soon if the budget allows. I would like to thank the Club for their help supporting this and to everyone who has taken part in the Project Club 100 Draw which will help fund such projects.
Enjoy your weekend
Dave.
