Dear Members,
We would like to inform members of an upcoming change to the HowDidiDo app, which many of you use for scores, competitions and club information.
From January, HowDidiDo is launching a brand-new platform, combining the existing HowDidiDo app and Members Hub into a single, modern application. This is not a minor update but a complete rebuild, designed to be faster, clearer and more reliable.
What is changing?
For several years, clubs and members have fed back that having two separate apps was confusing and that both platforms were becoming dated and prone to performance issues. The new HowDidiDo has been built from the ground up to provide:
A single, streamlined app experience
Improved performance and reliability
A more modern and intuitive interface
Greater flexibility for future features and improvements
Reduced and better-managed advertising
Will I need to download a new app?
Yes. The new HowDidiDo app is already available to download, but you will not be able to connect to the club until the official launch.
When does it go live?
The planned launch date is 12 January, subject to final feedback from ongoing beta testing.
Important: Payment and subscriptions
HowDidiDo is introducing a subscription model. However, Vicars Cross Golf Club will be purchasing the app licence for all members.
This means:
Members do not need to pay for the app
Members should not take out an individual subscription
All members will receive the ad-free version of the app through the club’s licence
Please do not subscribe or pay individually if prompted when the app launches.
What if I don’t want to use the app?
The HowDidiDo website will remain completely free of charge and can still be accessed via your web browser. The only feature exclusive to the app is push notifications, which cannot be sent via the website.
I’m a member of more than one club – what happens?
Our club licence will cover your use of the app for Vicars Cross Golf Club only. Other clubs may make their own arrangements.
What do I need to do now?
At this stage, no action is required. We will provide clear instructions closer to the launch date to ensure a smooth transition for all members.
