Christmas Goblets
A superb day!
A total of 49 couples took part in the annual Christmas Mixed Foursomes in fabulous conditions yesterday.
Winners with a remarkable score of 44 stableford points, off their handicap of 23, were Kathryn Halksworth and John Beattie. They followed their front nine 19 points with an excellent back nine of 25 which included a gross birdie on the 18th hole.
Runners-up with 40 points (31 hcp) were Vivien Hornsey and John Pendergast.
Third place went to Jane and Vincent McAviney with 38 points (32 hcp). They actually tied with three other couples but pipped them on a countback.
The winners are pictured with Men’s Captain, Mat Hague and, in her final engagement of her tenure, the Ladies Captain, Julie Frank. Julie took the opportunity to thank the members, Men’s Captains she worked alongside, along with the committee and staff for making her two years so enjoyable.
