Captain & Pro Challenge - Sunday

A few notes from our Captain ahead of the Captain & Pro Challenge this Sunday. There will be a prize presentation at 3 pm for all those that are still at the club. There will also be a voluntary £1 fine for anyone who hits their ball in the pond on the 2nd hole that day! There will be nearest the pins on all the par 3's.

200+ Club

Kindly drawn by Lucy, this months lucky winners are:-

£100 (No. 173) Brigitte Paul
£75 (No. 149) Mary Adames
£50 (No. 47) Richard Hedge
£25 (No. 71) Trevor Pulleyblank
Golf Voucher - No. 175 - Caroline Pilbeam

As you will notice, we have become the 200+ Club.

It was decided to extend membership due to the large number of club members on the waiting list. The additional revenue this creates will be split evenly between club projects and monthly prize money, an additional monthly £25 prize having already been implemented.

We would like to welcome all new members and are sure they will find membership extremely good value.

Regarding projects, we have provided funds for 54 new yardage signs to replace the concrete ones currently on the tee boxes.

Another project underway is the provision of 4 benches to be cited underneath the magnificent horse chestnut tree beyond the putting green. This tree was planted by the late, great, legend - Ian Pettie who planted it aged 5 years from a conker he brought from Eartham Woods 75 years ago. This tree has become an iconic feature of Bognor Regis Golf Club and the benches will provide golfers the opportunity to sit and finalise their scorecards whilst reflecting on the origin of the tree.

The 200+ club will be funding one bench - the others being funded by the Sunday Boys group and the golf club. Thanks to all for their kind contributions.

We are currently looking at options to replace the spike bar chairs which, although very suitable for the area, are rather heavy for the girls to move around. We will keep you updated.

Meanwhile, please let us know of any project suggestions you might have - each one will be carefully considered.

Finally, congratulations to all of this months winners.

Kindest regards,
Derek and Debbie
