It was Sam’s consistency and resilience that ultimately earned him the top honour. Sam claimed the Island Championship, shooting a superb 65 at Royal Jersey during one of the qualifying rounds in testing conditions. He also secured the title of Royal Jersey Men’s Club Champion and reduced his handicap from 0.1 to +1.7 over the season.
An injury late in the year sidelined Sam from the Channel Island Final and Inter-Insular, but his dedication never faltered as he continued to support his teammates and even caddied while still recovering. More recently, he was also part of the Channel Islands side that defeated Hampshire.
Jersey Golf proudly presented Sam as the 2025 Men’s Player of the Year in recognition of his outstanding performances and contribution to the team.
Everyone at Royal Jersey Golf Club wishes Sam the best of luck when he plays his Channel Island Championship match against Guernsey in April, further details will be covered in the General Managers weekly updates nearer to the time.
