Update from the Handicap & Competitions Committee
Dear Member,

Due to deteriorating course conditions, Competitions which are 'Acceptable for Handicap' will end following the Autumn Shootout Round 4 on Sunday 26th October, 2025.

From Monday 27th October 2025, all competitions that we run will not be 'acceptable for handicap' and any scores returned will not affect your EG Index. We will not be accepting any 'General Play' scores from this date until further notice.

On Monday 27th October, 2025 we will switch off our digital courses, meaning that it won't be possible for you to enter any scores on Lee Park courses using your EG App. If you do wish to enter any scores via your App from other courses, please ensure that the course that you intend to play is 'Acceptable for Handicap'. We will check any scores that are submitted this way and will delete any which we find do not conform.

**PREFERRED LIES**

With effect from Monday 27th October, 2025, the following local rule will be introduced:

When a ball lies anywhere within the general area, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and replaced no more than six inches from where it originally lay without penalty.

The player must mark the original position of the ball before lifting it and the area of relief must remain in the general area and must not be nearer to the hole than where it originally lay.

The General Area refers to any area of the course that is not a hazard and is not a putting green.

When a ball lies in a bunker, the ball may be lifted, the bunker raked, and the ball replaced no nearer the hole and no more than six inches from where it originally lay.

**Competition Tees**

The white tees will remain in play for competitions up to and including the Autumn Shootout Final on Sunday 2nd November, 2025. For these mixed competitions, men should play from the white tees and ladies from the red tees.

On Monday 3rd November 2025, the white tees will be removed. From that date onwards all mixed competitions and Mens Tuesday competitions will be played from the yellow tees. The Ladies Committee will advise ladies which tees will be used for their Tuesday Competitions. We will keep you informed as and when a decision is made to further shorten the course and the teeing area and tee to be used is changed again.
