Winter Golf: Red Tees and WHS Qualifiers Confirmed

As we move into the winter season, starting in November, there will be changes to the course setup and your handicap index.

Key Updates:
Red Tees Only:
Golf South Ayrshire (GSA) has confirmed that only the Red Tees will be in play throughout winter. The White and Yellow tees will be removed to help protect the course.

All Competitions Are WHS Qualifiers:
GSA has assured us that the winter course setup will meet World Handicap System (WHS) guidelines. This means all club competitions will count as qualifying competitions and WHS-acceptable for scores.

Automatic Handicap Adjustments:
The Match Committee has updated Club V1, SGU, and HDID systems so that the only courses available to select, are the red tees, so your index will be adjusted accordingly. This is also in place for anyone submitting a general play round.

Local Rules – Check Before You Play:
Under WHS rules, temporary Local Rules (e.g., Preferred Lies) can only be declared by GSA. The club cannot implement local rules for competitions.
Please check the BRS app and the notice board at the 1st tee before each round to confirm any active Temporary Local Rules
