Although it was not possible to play for the Col John Green salver during the day due to the stormy weather an evening celebration took place at the golf club on the evening of Saturday 4th October. The Salver was last played in 2019 and due to Covid and other issues it was good to have the function resurrected.
After a minutes silence for those no longer with us, Grace was conducted by John Rees.
A toast to the Past Captains was given by Vice President Michael Bevan.
Invited guest Club Captain Richard Williams provided a toast to all Past and new Captains to be of Haverfordwest Golf Club.
A special toast was given to the longest serving Past Captain Anthony Bowen of 55 years and to the oldest of the Past Captains Graham Owen.
Excellent food was provided by the club and all who attended greatly enjoyed the event.
It is proposed that this event will take place again next year on Saturday 19th September 2026.
In the interest of Haverfordwest Past Captains,
John Rees
Past President Haverfordwest GC
