Andy Holds Firm in the Storm at Galgorm

Hi all,

I wanted to share a quick update from what turned into a very testing second round here at Galgorm. The weather was as bad as I’ve seen in tournament golf for a long time — heavy rain, gusting winds, and a course that seemed to get tougher by the minute.

Through it all, Andy kept his composure. He followed yesterday’s 68 (-4) with a determined 70 (-2) today, which puts him at -6 overall. On a day when par was a good score and many players saw their rounds unravel, Andy’s steadiness really stood out.

At the top, Markus Brier added a 69 to his opening 65 and now leads on -10. He’s two ahead of Mikael Lundberg (-8), with Simon Griffiths just behind after a superb 67 that included two eagles. Andy sits just four shots back in a tie for fourth alongside Van Phillips and Adilson Da Silva at -6.

So, Andy has given himself a real chance heading into the final round. If the weather eases tomorrow, I think we could see some good scores, and he’s certainly in position to take advantage.

I’ll keep you posted after the final day — fingers crossed for a strong finish.

Well played Andy,
Steve
