Andy Marshall is back on the Seniors Legends Tour this week, once again teeing it up in Northern Ireland. He got off to a flying start in Round One with three birdies in his first four holes, immediately putting himself under par and setting the tone for the day.
Andy went on to post a fine 4-under-par round, with 6 birdies, 2 bogeys, and 10 pars on his card.
Afterwards, he texted to say he was pleased with how solidly he played and that he “actually holed a couple of putts.” He also noted that the weather wasn’t great and that the scoring from the leaders was “unreal.”
It’s encouraging to see the putts starting to drop again, especially after the last event where he struck the ball beautifully but didn’t quite get the rewards on the greens. Ball-striking has been a strength all season, but the averages on the greens have held him back a touch.
Let’s wish Andy all the best for today’s round—if he keeps plotting his way smartly around Galgorm and finds the right side of the pins, we could see plenty more birdies drop. Good luck Andy—everyone at the club is right behind you!
