Gorleston Lose to Brett Vale in Final Match of Season
On Saturday 9 August 2025, Gorleston ladies hosted their sixth and final match of their Weston Bowl Season. Although it is a scratch league the matches have to be played in strict handicap order as dictated by SCLGA.
Marie Norman saw us off, followed by Paula Ledger, Laura Westhorpe, Leigh Denny and Vera Woolnough. As you may imagine the standard of golf is very high in these games and Saturday was no exception. Our girls put up a strong show but in the end we lost 2/3. Brett Vale are a strong team who they tell me were previously in Division 1. Laura gave her opponent a shock by eagling the first, well done Laura, that was brilliant.
The match was played in an exemplary spirit, the course was in superb condition and the weather was sublime. Many thanks to the caterers for supplying the post match refreshments to their usual high standard.
Not all the teams in the league have completed their matches so we do not know yet where we have finished. Huge thanks to all our super Weston Squad for representing our Club again this year so brilliantly!
