Seniors v Luffenham (away)

On a warm sunny day with a gentle breeze Longcliffe seniors faced Luffenham Heath seniors on the beautifully presented Luffenham course. The away team was led by COTD Brian Armitage and supported by our Club President Richard Barker who lost their match but strong wins from Falmer & Fay, Mckeown and Rowe, Porte & Morgan, Steel & Wilcockson gave the away side a comprehensive 3 pts to 5 pts WIN
Thanks were given to the green staff for the excellent condition of the course, with praise for all matches conducted with a friendly manor, all in 3 tees start 4-hour rounds.
It was followed by 2 course Indian meal of Onion Baji, basmati rice, nan bread, poppadom’s, followed by Chicken curry, rice, Bombay potatoes and various chutneys, which was the option favoured by 90% of the players who enjoyed it greatly. To finish a choice of sweets.
John Curtis won 3 Titleist balls for nearest the pin.
The return match at Longcliffe in mid-August will be an opportunity by them to square the encounter
