July 24 – Gents A Team v Rudding Park
Bedale hosted Rudding Park at home on what is our last match in the Inter Club League, sadly we lost with a very small margin. I would like to thank Mike Greenwood as the Team Manager for pulling together at times the best players we have available and on occasion dragging himself out of retirement, could not have managed this without you, thank you. To the players that turned out every week without fail, our scratch golfers and especially our handicap golfers that played at times more than their fair share of scratch matches, takes some true grit to enter into a game you are more than likely going to lose but regardless you try your best to produce the goods, you are all the true stars of this golf club and it has been a true honour to be on the same team as you, without doubt a true highlight of my Captaincy. To Matthew and the house team, Maria and Imogen for our catering, may I thank you on behalf of our team and every team that visited, your attention to detail, service and professionalism is not only a credit to the club but to you all, thank you. Ash and the greens staff for time and time again producing the best course that you could do. Not a single team that we hosted had an adverse word to say and we received high praise indeed for the condition, standard and quality of the course, our sincere thanks.
