Captains Weekend

t gives me great pleasure to invite you all to join me for my Captain’s weekend, which begins on Friday 8th August with an individual Stableford competition, followed by the main event on Saturday 9th August and Sunday 10th August.
Booking for these events will be live on Club V1 over the next few days and I hope you can all join me for what is a very special weekend for your Club Captain.
Captains Friday
The Friday Stableford competition is open to all members, even if you are playing in the weekend event. Plus, this year, I have added an extra side competition called a “blind pairs draw”. (This is a format where players will be randomly paired together without knowing who their partner is until the round has been completed).
Format – Individual Mixed Stableford
Course – Men WHITE / Ladies RED
Entry Fee - £5.00 (includes 2’s and raffle)
Captains 36 Hole
Format – 36 hole Medal (18 Hole Saturday / 18 Holes Sunday0
Course – Men BLUE / Ladies RED
Entry Fee - £10.00 for both days (Includes 2’s, Raffle and food)
The top 25 and ties in the men's and the top 8 and ties in the ladies competitions will qualify for the second rounds of their respective competitions on Sunday.
Sunday
For those qualifiers, tee times for the 2nd rounds will start at about 10.45am. Tee times will be advised following the close of play on Saturday, with the ladies competition leading the way. Times will be allocated in reverse leaderboard order, with the men’s competition leaders going out around 12.30pm.
Captains Plate
For those NOT qualified for their respective 2nd rounds they are eligible to play in the Captains Plate. This is a mixed competition (your 1st round score will not be carried forward), over 16 holes, playing prior to those playing in round 2 of their competitions. Tee booking will go live during the Saturday event.
There will be Nearest the Pin prizes each day, as well as individual prizes for each competition. A Prize presentation ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon, after the final round has been completed, at approx. 5.00pm.
The Captain’s raffle is in support of my chosen charity “The Royal Signals Charity”

Any raffle prizes can also be dropped off in the Office or the Pro-shop.
