Dear Members

Since the birth of WHS it has become apparent that some members do not play in many handicap competitions. In fact we have come across several members that have only played in 2 or 3 competitions in the last 2/3 years. Therefore as this is a minimal representation of their ability The Board has decided to enforce a minimum amount of 6 qualifying competition rounds that need to be played in a rolling 12 month period prior to entry in the qualifying competitions. This only affects board competitions, cup competitions and team competitions such as Captain's and President's days. It does not affect monthly medals & stableford's.

To be clear the 6 cards need to be qualifying competition events not general play cards.

Members joining from other clubs and who have already played in 6 competitions rounds that are registered on WHS are fine as it is not 6 qualifying competition rounds at South Staffs.

I do appreciate that this may inhibit players that are just starting off at the game, but we have to be fair to all members and remember it doesn't affect monthly medals and stablefords. Members that have not completed 6 rounds as specified above can still enter the competitions, but they cannot win the cups until they have the reached the qualifying amount of 6.
