Local Rules - Updated
Changes to Local Rules - From 18/07/25
Please note main changes/clarification to local rules. See noticeboards for all updated local rules. These Local Rules supercede those printed on the scorecard. Emails are also being sent out this morning.

Penalty Areas
Penalty Areas are defined as either Red or Yellow, the boundaries of which are marked with stakes or lines. Where different penalty areas, and/or out of bounds, are adjacent to each other, stakes of both denominations are placed back-to-back to
determine the boundary line. Manmade bridges crossing a penalty area are treated as inside the penalty area on a line between the red/yellow stakes. If a ball lies in a penalty area the player may play the ball as it lies or, by adding one penalty stroke may:
- Take stroke-and-distance relief by playing a ball from the original spot
- Go back as far as they want from the spot where the ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area (Yellow or Red)
- Drop a ball within two clubs’ length of where the ball last crossed the penalty area, no nearer the hole (Red only)

Power Lines
If it is known or virtually certain that a player's ball hit a power line, including the pole, stability cables or structures supporting a power line, during the play of the 4th hole or the 8th hole, the stroke does not count. The player MUST play another ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made.

No Play Zone (NPZ)
A NPZ is: Anywhere in the general area circled with white paint and marked NPZ. Relief MUST be taken within one club length of the nearest point which gives complete relief.

Ground Under Repair (GUR)
An area of GUR is denoted by a white line (which is not designated as a NPZ) together with areas of unusual damage, including areas where ruts made by course machinery have altered the ground surface materially. Relief MAY be taken within one club length of a point which gives complete relief, no nearer the hole.
Exception - Furrows in a bunker where sand has been removed by the movement of water is GUR, where free relief may be taken, within the bunker.
