Congratulations to Emily Morey, who became our Ladies Champion 2025 yesterday (Tuesday 15 July).

Emily overcame the challenges of dry, bouncy fairways, fast greens and a fierce, gusty wind to win by one shot from last years champion, Sophie Page.

Played over 36 holes in one day, it was a close competition between the Devon County team mates throughout. Sophie was one shot ahead after round one with a gross 78, but Emily fought back in the afternoon to win on the final hole after Sophie lost her ball in the rough.

Emily lifted the Thelma Philp Trophy with a gross score of 161 (79 + 82), one shot better than Sophie (78 + 84 = 162) with Helen Chivers in third (81 + 90 = 171).

The handicap competition for the Hilary Rolls Trophy was an equally close affair with Emily taking the title by two shots from Helen Chivers. Emily's combined nett score was 149 (73 + 76) with Helen in second with 71 + 80 = 151, Sarah White was another two shots back on 153 (80 + 73) with Rosemary Ashford 71 + 82.
