The scratch section won by 7 points to 5 points our winning players were Andy Hood 6&5, Tom Lee 4&3 and Paul McGrath 5&4. Our half point was gained by Josh Thompson. Our losing players were Jacob Brown and Taylor Briggs losing 1 down, once again Taylor going all the way, well played to all of you. In the handicap section we lost by 10 points to 2 points. Our winning player was Marc Symington 6&5, our losing players were Dave McGreal, Phil Chadwick, Daniel Spence, Nic Winstanley and Will Bellerby. All were giving shots to the home players, ranging from 2 to 4 shots, three of the games went to the 17th hole and each time the Billingham players lost their ball. Unlucky lads, but well played to you all. The final result being Dinsdale 15 points, Billingham 9 points, which is not too bad when playing away but I am told it could have been better as you can see from above results.
Once again Neil and I appreciate all of you for playing and each time all we ask is you try your best and enjoy. Remember the team spirit and camaraderie between you all is fantastic and we are proud to be apart of it with you all, a brilliant set of lads sticking together with some great banter between yourselves, well done. I was also told that the Dinsdale course was in very good condition and all the players enjoyed it.
Neil and I would like to thank all the players who did not play but came along to support the players, these being Phil Earl and Steve Smart. And once again to our band of Billingham supporters again out numbering the home supporters. Thank you to Stewart Openshaw who helped Neil who was under the weather with an upset stomach and keeping me informed with what was happening while I was sat in a bar, surprise surprise in the sunshine ha ha! Thank you to Vice-Captain Albert Spence, Mike Lee, Terry Conlon and this week coming along after missing last week, Howard Gill. Sending his apologies for not turning up again feeling very unwell Colin Spence, once again all the players appreciate all the support you give them.
Our next fixture is at home against Darlington Golf Club on Wednesday 9 July 2025. Neil and I are looking forward to seeing as many of you supporting the team as possible and remember, as I say every week, it’s got to be better than watching the soap operas or watching Ladies football on TV !!!
Well back to the sunbed and some drinks see you all next week!
With Thanks
Tony The Tiger and Neil Kerr
